Last week, Shingobee CEO Nancy Samson had the opportunity to join a panel at an event hosted by the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal.

The event was the first in a special forum series by the Journal called “Help Wanted Minnesota”, focusing on the region's workforce and skills gaps in various important industries. This first event was about the construction sector, focusing on discussing strategies for bridging the skills gap and meeting the workforce challenges ahead.

Samson joined other construction industry experts in a discussion focused around bringing more young people into the construction trades. She spoke about the ProjectBuild program, proposed legislation that would allow teens to work on jobsites, and how she personally encourages young people to consider the trades as a viable alternative to college.
