Alamo Drafthouse Cinema

Shingobee provided construction of the first Minnesota location of Alamo Drafthouse Cinema in 2018, for Woodbury Lakes owner RPT Realty. As the new anchor of the renovated shopping center, it provides an experiential draw to attract shoppers.

Tilt-up panel construction was utilized for the exterior shell of the 43,392 square foot building. The interior houses nine theaters, with a full-service bar and dining experience offered within the theater, along with a stand-alone bar/restaurant, “Vetted Well,” and a large commercial kitchen. Unique finishes, interior and exterior, convey a rustic / contemporary appearance in Classic Texan style.

Shingobee provided full contracting, management, and site supervision of the building, all interior improvements, and related site work, starting in the fall of 2017. The project presented unique challenges in maintaining the schedule, with winter conditions and other delays, requiring creative solutions to complete on time. A Cooperative Compliance Partnership with Minnesota OSHA was implemented to ensure safety on site.

Shingobee has been working with RPT Realty since 2017 on upgrades to the Woodbury Lakes retail center. Extensive remodel of parking areas and streetscapes and construction of tenant spaces have been provided in addition to the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, enhancing the retail center by providing a new look and new experiences to attract shoppers.
